Space for you as a parent

Parenting a neurodivergent child is rewarding… and sometimes exhausting. We offer support for your stress, decisions and priorities while raising a neurodivergent child to pause, reflect and figure out what actually works for you.

Start with a session to talk about what’s on your mind and what support would actually help you.

What you might be carrying

You might feel like your brain is running a constant “mental-load marathon.”

You might be:

  • Second-guessing decisions – “Am I doing enough? Am I doing this right?”

  • Juggling everything – work, relationships, your own neurodivergence or health, and everyday life

  • Carrying your own history – old patterns, experiences or expectations shaping how you parent now

  • Feeling overwhelmed by uncertainty – the future, societal pressures or global events

  • Questioning advice – wondering how to support a child whose needs don’t fit standard templates

This space is for making sense of it all and finding ways to feel steadier and supported, without judgment or pressure.

What parent-only counselling offers

A parent-only space means you come first. No one is “fixing” you or your child here; this is about your experience, your priorities and your resilience.

In sessions, you can:

  • Talk about what you’re carrying – stress, mental load and everyday challenges

  • Clarify your values and choices – make decisions that feel right for your family

  • Try practical approaches – routines, strategies and tools that fit your life and energy

  • Reflect on the bigger picture – work, relationships, health and pressures outside parenting

We use conversation, reflection or practical exercises, depending on what works for you. The goal: feel more confident, capable and clear-headed, without pressure to do it “perfectly.”

Themes we can explore together

  • Managing mental load – spotting what drains your energy and finding ways to recharge

  • Parenting choices and values – clarifying what matters and setting boundaries that stick

  • Recognizing your strengths – noticing what you already do well

  • Balancing life demands – juggling work, relationships and self-care alongside parenting

  • Supporting your child in ways that fit your family – approaches tailored to your child, not generic advice

  • Big-picture worries – climate, societal pressures or uncertainty, without adding guilt

Climate-aware support for parents

Parenting is challenging enough without the added pressure of global uncertainty and stress. In this space, we focus on what you can influence and control, not trying to “save the world”:

  • Process your feelings – stress, anxiety or grief, without judgment

  • Link values to action – small, meaningful steps that feel doable

  • Protect your energy – noticing how big-picture concerns affect daily life

Build resilience – routines and strategies that help you feel steady and present
